There are disclosed: composites of poly ionic liquids and metal compounds in particular for low temperature CO2 gas detecting, a solution or a suspension comprising said composition, a substrate comprising said composition, a use of said composition for CO2 detection or in a CO2 sensor or a use of said suspension or solution in a method for manufacturing a CO2sensor. Further a CO2 sensor comprising said composition and a method for detecting CO2 is disclosed.
