An in-vehicle device controller has at least two redundant operation condition-detecting units and controls an actuator usually on the basis of an operation condition-detecting signal of one of the two operation condition-detecting units. When the controller recognizes that there is an abnormal condition in the communication condition or data condition of one of the at least two operation condition-detecting units, or an abnormal condition in the operation condition-detecting unit itself, the actuator is controlled on the basis of the operation condition-detecting signal of another operation condition-detecting unit in which an abnormal condition has not occurred. Even if an abnormal condition occurs in an operation condition-detecting unit for detecting an operation condition or in an operation condition-detecting signal, the actuator can still be made to function.
