This invention provides a projected-image-displaying member that contains three or more layers that have fixed cholesteric liquid crystal phases, exhibit different selective-reflection central wavelengths, and include both a layer in which the helical structure of the cholesteric liquid crystal is right-handed and a layer in which said helical structure is left-handed. This invention also provides a projection system that includes the following: a projector that projects linearly polarized light, a waveplate that converts linearly polarized light to circularly polarized light, and the abovementioned projected-image-displaying member. A projection system that includes this projected-image-displaying member can produce high-quality images, even in bright environments. |
