A barrel polishing method according to one embodiment includes: a mass feeding step for feeding a mass which comprises a workpiece, water, polishing media and a compound into a barrel tank, said compound containing a component having a fatty acid group; and a polishing/rustproofing step for fluidizing the mass in the barrel tank, and thus polishing the workpiece and adhering a deposit composed of the component having a fatty acid group to the surface of the workpiece, said first film having fatty acid groups. |
