Provided are an interactive server and a controlling method thereof. The method for controlling the interactive server according to the present invention includes the steps of: receiving user voice; determining the speech type of the user voice; generating a search response and a chatting response to the user voice if the speech type of the user voice is determined to be an integrated speed type, and then generating an integrated response by combining the generated search response and the generated chatting response; and transmitting the generated integrated response to a user terminal.
