A device for deploying a cardiac valve prosthesis (V) includes a distal valve holder portion (10) and a shaft (6) extending towards the valve holder portion (10). The shaft (6) is selectively bendable to a curved shape to vary the spatial orientation of the valve holder portion (10) with respect to the desired implantation site.
