<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terahertz wave generation detector capable of reducing fluctuation of relative time difference between an optical pulse for generating terahertz waves and an optical pulse for detecting terahertz waves due to environmental variation, and reducing deformation of time waveform and/or spectrum waveform of the optical pulses. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pulse for generating terahertz waves from a first path, and an optical path for detecting terahertz waves from a second path of orthogonal polarization are multiplexed with a beam combiner 107, and made incident on birefringence axes of a fiber transmission part 108, respectively. The second path is provided with a pulse time interval adjustment part 105 which avoids that the optical pulse for generating terahertz waves and the optical pulse for detecting terahertz waves temporally overlap each other at the fiber transmission part 108. A pulse time interval correction part 110 which makes the optical pulse for generating terahertz waves and the optical pulse for generating terahertz waves which do not temporally overlap each other overlap temporally is provided between a polarization beam splitter 109 and a THz wave generation part 111. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
