<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the usability of a tactile navigation function. <P>SOLUTION: A main unit 100 and display unit 200 of a portable telephone respectively comprise an acceleration sensor for detecting the acceleration of their own units. The main unit 100 determines whether the main unit 100 and the display unit 200 have been accommodated in the left or right pocket of user's clothing on the basis of the output of the acceleration sensors of the main unit 100 and the display unit 200 (step S107).
