A bicycle and light assembly has wheels, a frame support by the wheels, a bike light supported by the frame, and a mounting system coupling the bike light 50 to the frame. The mounting system includes a socket 98 secured to one of the frame and the bike light 50, a post 72 secured to the other of the frame and the bike light 50, and a releasable securing mechanism 100 that secures the post 72 in the socket 98. The mounting system 100 can further include a mounting bracket 76 coupling the post 72 to the frame, wherein the mounting bracket 76 facilitates rotational adjustment of the post 72 about the post axis 92. The releasable securing mechanism 100 can include a detent member 102 positioned in a side opening 104 of the post 72 and in engagement with a recess (114, figure 7) in the socket 98 to secure the rotational orientation of the post in the socket. The bracket 72 may be mounted to a handlebar 46 such that the lamp is level with or below the handlebar 46. |
