A perfluoropolyether-modified polysilazane consists of silazane units having the formula: F(CF2O)p(CF2CF2O)q(CF2CF2CF2O)r(CF2CF2CF2CF2O)s—CxF2x-Q-Si(NH)1.5  (1) wherein Q is a divalent organic group, p and q are an integer of at least 1, r and s are an integer of at least 0, and x is an integer of 1 to 3. A surface treating agent comprising the polysilazane is improved in water/oil repellency, surface slip and smear wipe-off. |
