<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a gas sensor provided in an intake pipe disposed in a vertical direction from being splashed by condensate flowing down from an upper side of the intake pipe. <P>SOLUTION: The intake piping 18 of a diesel engine 10 is provided in a vertical direction, and an air-fuel-ratio sensor 58 is provided in a surge tank 62 interposed between the intake piping 18 and an intake manifold 17. The air-fuel-ratio sensor 58 is provided on a vertical wall 62a of the surge tank 62, and at an upper side thereof, a shield body 64 is provided. The shield body 64 is constituted of a bottom wall 64a and a weir 64b to form a water trapping recessed part 64c. By collecting condensate w produced on an upper wall surface of a water trapping gutter 64 and flowing down by the shield body 64, the condensate w is prevented from being attached to a detection part 58a of the air-fuel-ratio sensor 58. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
