发明名称 Resilient mounting
摘要 637,266. Resilient mountings. GENERAL TIRE & RUBBER CO. Oct. 22, 1947, No. 28285. Convention date, Feb. 27. [Class 108 (iii)] In a vibration-absorbing resilient mounting comprising two relatively movable members having rigid bearing surfaces, an annulus of resilient material having a non-circular cross-section and one sectional axis substantially greater than the other and disposed between the bearing surfaces to prevent contact therebetween, the major sectional axis of the annulus and bearing surfaces being dimensioned so that the annulus bears against annular portions of the bearing surfaces, whereby, on relative movement of the annulus and bearing surfaces towards each other, the major axis is first partially tilted or rotated about its own centre to a more acute angle so as to be substantially parallel therewith, after which the resilient member is compressed between the bearing surfaces. In the arrangement shown, an annulus 5 of resilient material of non-circular (preferably elliptical) crosssection, is disposed between substantially parallel frusto-conical bearing surfaces 2 and 4, such that under normal loading, the major axis 8 of the annulus 5 lies at an angle of between 20 and 60 degrees to the surfaces 2 and 4. Preferably, annular, seats 11 and 12 are provided on the surfaces 2 and 4 respectively, to prevent slipping of the annulus 5 whilst permitting free rolling action of the latter during initial relative movement of the surfaces 2 and 4. In a modification (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown), the annulus is disposed between and with its major axis at an acute angle to, coaxial cylindrical bearing surfaces, each of which is provided with a seating for the annulus. In another modification (Fig. 6, not shown), adhesive film such as heat-softenable resin-base composition, or rubber to metal adhesive, is disposed between the annulus 5, Fig. 2, and one or preferably both bearing seats 11 and 12, prior to assembly. After assembly the parts may be adhered together by heating the mounting. Alternatively, any suitable means may be employed for obtaining adhesion between the annulus and the seats. The annulus 5 is preferably moulded flat, so that the major axis 8 of each and every section lies in a single plane.
