<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical vacuum cleaner provided with a suction hose and a suction pipe besides a suction port body capable of performing cleaning by the suction hose and the suction pipe in a stable condition. <P>SOLUTION: The vertical vacuum cleaner is provided with the suction port body and a cleaner body coupled with the suction port body. A dust collection part and an electric blower are provided to the cleaner body. The cleaner body is provided with a handle in the upper part. The suction hose provided with the suction pipe at the leading end is disposed in the upper part of the cleaner body. A pipe holder 51 for accommodating the suction pipe is provided with an anchor body 63 for anchoring the suction pipe in an accommodated state. When the suction pipe is in a retracted state, the anchor body 63, displaced by an outer pipe of the suction pipe, allows the suction pipe to be inserted into the pipe holder 51 to a defined position.
