<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and highly secured sensor network system, a key management method, and a program. <P>SOLUTION: One sensor requests key sharing of another communicative sensor, then, initial processing means of the other senor having received the request executes a key sharing protocol using an initial key and creates a new key K1 to be shared. Shared key transmission means of the other sensor transmits the created shared key to the one sensor. Encryption means of the other sensor performs encryption of a message by using the key K1. Transmission means of the other sensor transmits the encrypted message to the one sensor. Message authentication means of the one sensor authenticates the message by using the received key K1.
