The present invention relates to a Chinese character input device and a method thereof. The Chinese character input device includes: multiple representative radical keys displaying at least one representative radical respectively; a radical key unit which displays multiple general radicals set to correspond to one representative radical input by one among the representative radical keys to multiple general radical keys respectively; a smart key unit which displays multiple smart characters set to correspond to one representative or general radical input by a user′s selection onto multiple smart keys respectively; a keypad unit including multiple conventional keys; an input checking unit which identifies the button key selected by the user on the keypad unit; and a Chinese character generation unit using the representative radical, general radical, or smart character corresponding to the button key identified by the input checking unit to generate a Chinese character. |
