The method for removing arsenic compounds comprises heat-treating a NOx removal catalyst contaminated with arsenic compounds at a predetermined temperature in a reducing atmosphere while exposing the catalyst to hydrocarbon compounds (except CH4) or oxygen-containing carbon compound.
