1. An apparatus for indicating a strapping force applied by a headgear of a patient interface device, comprising:
a first portion structured to be selectively connectable to a connecting element of a mask of the patient interface device, the first portion including a first strap portion; a second portion structured to be selectively connectable to a strap of the headgear, the second portion including a second strap portion; and a force gauging mechanism coupled to the first portion and the second portion, the force gauging mechanism being structured to gauge and indicate a force being applied by the headgear in response to the second strap portion being pulled by the strap of the headgear, wherein the force gauging mechanism comprises a sheath element coupled to the second strap portion at a first position, wherein the second strap portion is free to stretch within the sheath element from the first position in a longitudinal direction along a length of the second strap portion, wherein the second strap portion includes at least one indicium on a surface thereof, wherein the sheath element includes a plurality of windows positioned along a length of the sheath element, and wherein one or more of the at least one indicium is structured to be visible through one or more of the windows when the second strap portion is being stretched in the longitudinal direction. |
