1. A method of determining a popularity level for one or points of interests (POIs), said method comprising:
receiving, by a processor, position data from a plurality of navigation devices; determining, by the processor, a proportion of users entering a region associated with or adjacent to a first POI relative to a total number of users entering an area or zone comprising the first POI based on the received position data; determining, by the processor, a proportion of users entering a region associated with or adjacent to a second POI relative to a total number of users entering an area or zone comprising the second POI based on the received position data; comparing, by the processor, the proportion determined for the first POI to the proportion determined for the second POI; determining, by the processor, a popularity for the first POI and a popularity for the second POI based on the proportion comparison of the first POI and the second POI; and providing, by the processor, an indication of the popularity of at least the first POI or the second POI for display to one or more users.
