PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle communication system capable of simplifying user operation by automatically validating a wireless communication LAN function in a communication apparatus with an on-vehicle device in the timing for a vehicle in which the communication device is carried to start traveling, the communication apparatus and a communication control method.SOLUTION: The on-vehicle communication system includes the communication apparatus and the on-vehicle device mounted in the vehicle. The communication apparatus includes radio communication means with equipment being present within a predetermined distance and switching means for switching validity/invalidity of the radio communication means, and the communication apparatus communicates with the on-vehicle device via the radio communication means. In the on-vehicle communication system, the communication apparatus includes measurement means for measuring an acceleration of the communication apparatus or an angular velocity of the communication apparatus around a predetermined axis and determination means for determining whether the acceleration or the angular velocity measured by the measurement means is equal to or higher than a predetermined value. If the determination means determines that the acceleration or the angular velocity is equal to or higher than the predetermined value, the switching means validates a radio communication function of the radio communication means.
