<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an identification method of an option unit.SOLUTION: In a facsimile apparatus, one or more paper feed units: are loaded with the side closer to a printing unit as the upper side; have an upper side signal line connected to a lower side signal line of the upper paper feed unit and a lower side signal line connected to an upper side signal line of the lower paper feed unit; set a potential of the upper side signal line to a first potential until completion of initialization processing; start the initialization processing when a potential of the lower side signal line is a second potential; and change the potential of the upper side signal line from the first potential to the second potential subsequent to the completion of the initialization processing. Here, the initialization processing includes processing for setting unique identification information for each paper feed unit transmitted from controllers. The controllers perform an instruction of paper feeding to the paper feed units by using the identification information for each paper feed unit.</p> |
