摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular motor drive unit which achieves variations of operations with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A one-way clutch 26 and a first gear pair 28a, 28b having a prescribed gear change ratioγ1 are arranged at a power transmission passage between an output shaft 20 of a motor 12 and a differential mechanism 16, clutches 30l, 30r and a second gear pair 32la, 32lb, 32ra and 32rb having a prescribed gear change ratioγ2 are arranged at a power transmission passage between the output shaft 20 of the motor 12 and axles 18l, 18r, the gear change ratioγ2 is small compared with the gear change ratioγ1, and the one-way clutch 26 is engaged when a rotational speed of the output shaft 20 side of the motor 12 is higher than a rotational speed of the differential mechanism 16 side, and released when the rotational speed is lower. By this arrangement, a unit 10 can be made to selectively function as one of a gear change mechanism, a left-and-right drive force distribution mechanism, and a torque input reduction mechanism by controlling engagement states of the clutches 30l, 30r, and so forth.</p>
