PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate coded image information so that a coded image fits within a designated printing area without lowering an error correction level and the accuracy of reading, and without reducing the number of character strings of the character strings to be stored.SOLUTION: Character string information in which identification information for identifying a character is composed by combining a plurality of character strings differing from each other, is acquired. A delimiter character for delimiting the plurality of character strings combined in the acquired character string information is searched. Determination is made for each of the searched delimiter characters as to whether the arrangement pattern of identification information for the searched delimiter character and identification information for character strings preceding and following it is a specific pattern or not. When it is determined that the arrangement pattern is the specific pattern, the searched delimiter character is converted to a character of the same identification information as a character string of identification information different from the delimiter character among the preceding and following character strings, and coded image information is generated on the basis of character string information after the delimiter character was converted. |
