PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device that monitors a battery pack and can perform reduction of a processing load associated with a sleep time of the monitoring device and enhancement of the calculation precision of the sleep time.SOLUTION: A monitoring device has a monitoring unit for monitoring the state of a monitoring target, a controller for controlling the operation of the monitoring unit, and a storage unit for storing the state of the monitoring target. The monitoring unit has a sleep mode for restricting power supply to the monitoring unit. The controller stores information associated with the accumulation time of the sleep mode into the storage unit. The continuation time τ of the sleep mode is set to be constant, and the monitoring unit periodically repeats restoration from the sleep mode. The controller has a counter for counting the frequency n at which the monitoring unit restores from the sleep mode, and stores the frequency n into the storage unit or stores the product of the frequency n and the continuation time τ as an accumulation time into the storage unit. |
