PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit capable of reducing power consumption, and an image forming apparatus with the same.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus as a power unit includes: a power supply substrate 1; a power control section 10 which performs constant voltage control on an output voltage of the power supply substrate 1 in such a manner that a potential at a remote sensing position is fixed; a plurality of functional circuits CR1, CR2, CR3 and CR4 connected to the power supply substrate 1 while being connected in series with each other; and a power saving circuit 250 for switching states of the plurality of functional circuits CR1, CR2, CR3 and CR4 between a state where power is supplied from the power supply substrate 1 and a state where power is not supplied. The power saving circuit 250 sets, as the remote sensing position, an input-side contact of maximum current consumption in the power saving circuit 250 and the functional circuits to which power is supplied, or an input-side contact where an operation granted minimum voltage is maximized. |
