PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile device having higher security in comparison with the prior arts regarding facsimile communications.SOLUTION: A facsimile device 1 includes: a first communication section 70 capable of performing communications via a public switched telephone network; a second communication section 80 capable of performing communications via the Internet; an encryption section 103; and a transmission control section 107. In the encryption section 103, image data subjected to facsimile transmission are encrypted by a first encryption key to generate first encrypted data, and the first encryption key is encrypted by a second encryption key different from the first encryption key to generate second encrypted data. The transmission control section 107 causes the first communication section 70 to transmit the second encrypted data to another facsimile device and causes the second communication section 80 to transmit the first encrypted data and the second encryption key to the other facsimile device.
