PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database creation device capable of flexibly search for words including notational variations without increasing calculation costs.SOLUTION: A database creation device includes: a word notation/reading acquisition part which acquires word notation and reading of an entry selected from word information that includes one or more entries composed of a word notation and its reading; a similar reading candidate acquisition part which acquires all readings of the entry as similar reading candidates; a reading similarity calculation part which calculates reading similarity between reading of a selected entry and any similar reading candidate with respect to each similar reading candidate; a similar reading set generation part which generates a set of similar reading of similar reading candidates where the reading similarity becomes predetermined threshold or larger; an expansion entry generation part which generates an expansion entry by correlating reading similarity corresponding to each of similar reading candidates included in the set of similar reading with a selected entry; and an expansion word information storage part which stores expansion word information including one or more expansion entries.
