PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner, capable of suppressing viscosity increase due to the addition of resin to obtain a sharp particle size distribution without disturbing granulation properties and excellent in fixability and durability.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a toner includes a step of: dispersing and copolymerizing a polymerizable monomer composition containing styrene and a polyester A having a polymerizable functional group polymerizable with a vinyl group of the styrene in an aqueous medium. The polyester A is obtained by modifying a terminal of polyester by a compound having a polymerizable functional group polymerizable with a vinyl group of styrene. The melting point (Tm) of the polyester A is 50°C or more and 95°C or less, The polymerizable monomer composition includes the polyester A of 40 mass% or less and 3 mass% or more. The toner has an endothermic peak or a shoulder derived from the polyester A in a DSC measurement.
