PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system capable of providing a piece of recipe information by using a piece of menu information of a cuisine relevant to a viewing program and a piece of stock information of food material without previously inputting the information.SOLUTION: The information providing system includes: a program information collection section 11 that collects a piece of information on a program being viewed by a user, makes an inquiry to a program information server 30 to collect menu information on a cuisine in the program; a stock information collection section 12 that collects a piece of stock information of a refrigerator 60; a foodstuff information management section 15 that stores stock information; a recipe proposition section 13 that acquires a piece of menu information from the program information collection section 11, acquires a piece of stock information from the foodstuff information management section 15, makes an inquiry about a recipe of the menu to the recipe server 20 based on the menu information and the stock information, acquires a piece of recipe information to determine a piece of recipe information to be proposed; and a recipe display acquisition section 14 that displays the recipe information determined by the recipe proposition section 13 on a TV40, a mobile phone 50 or refrigerator 60. |
