PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller capable of operating more efficiently in an in-vehicle Ethernet(R) network, and a control method of the controller.SOLUTION: A controller operating in an in-vehicle Ethernet(R) network includes: a central processing unit; and a physical layer (PHY) device connected to the central processing unit through a first interface, a second interface, and a first pin. The physical layer device includes a decoder for decoding compressed video data into uncompressed video data, and is configured based on a predetermined configuration value for initialization irrespective of booting of an operating system of the central processing unit. After initialization of the physical layer device is completed based on the configuration of the pin, the decoder decodes compressed video data received from the outside through the Ethernet(R) network into uncompressed video data and transmits the uncompressed video data to the outside. |
