<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor that can detect a passenger who cannot get on the conveyor smoothly and that enables the passenger to safely get on a footstep of the passenger conveyor.SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor is equipped with: one-side first detecting means 25L and the other-side first detecting means 25R that detect presence of a passenger who passes through one side and the other side in a width direction of a boarding plate 14 and then gets on a footstep 11; and one-side second detecting means 26L and the other-side second detecting means 26R that detect the presence of the passenger who gets on one side and the other side in a width direction of the footstep 11. A control device 4 that changes movement speed of the footstep 11 makes movement speed of the footstep 11 slower than usual speed, when any one of the one-side first detecting means 25L and the other-side first detecting means 25R detects the passenger over predetermined time, and when second detecting means 26 which detects the presence of a passenger who gets on the footstep 11 at the same side as the first detecting means 25 that detects the passenger over the predetermined time does not detect the passenger.</p> |
