The design method according to the invention includes: a before-heating deformation calculation step S3 where the computer 1 calculates a deformed shape of a gasket model 26a at temperature before heating when being attached to a barrel model 21 in a compression state; a thermal expansion calculation step S4 where the computer 1 at least calculates a thermally-expanded state of the gasket model 26a, on the basis of heating temperature during sterilization; a step where the computer 1 calculates contact pressure between the gasket model 26c and the barrel model 21 after thermal contraction when the heating temperature is changed to the temperature before heating; and a step of evaluating a shape of the gasket model 26a on the basis of the contact pressure after the thermal contraction.
