PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that switches a rotary velocity control at appropriate timing in image formation devices including a brushless motor driving a rotary polygon mirror.SOLUTION: A printer 100 comprises a polygon mirror 13 that has a brushless motor 20 as a drive source, and the printer 100 is configured to: refer to a detection value related to an induction voltage generated in a coil during a non-energization period to the coil where the brushless motor 20 is present; perform a rotary velocity control on the basis of the induction voltage; and further, switch to a rotary velocity control based upon light reception timing of laser light L from the rotary velocity control based upon the induction voltage during a period of a rotary velocity in which a length to timing at which the detection value reaches a reference value from a start of the non-energization period is not shorter than a length of a reference disabled period of the induction voltage by a regenerative current. |
