PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of obtaining shading correction data without being affected by variation in manuscript transfer.SOLUTION: When a rotational speed of a DC motor DM is stable during image reading or the like of a manuscript M, a read timing signal TGE is generated synchronously with an encoder signal E, and when the rotational speed of the DC motor DM is unstable during acquisition or the like of white reference data, a first read cycle signal TGC1 or a second read cycle signal TGC2 is generated at a fixed interval independently of the encoder signal E, so that a CPU 3 can acquire shading correction data without being affected by variation in manuscript M transfer. |
