PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet type image formation device which can suppress feathering, bleeding and curl even in a case in which plain paper is used as a recording medium, easily perform uniform application, and obtain a high quality image by using a process liquid that can be relatively easily stored.SOLUTION: An image formation device 100 comprises: heads 61Y, 61M, 61C, 61BK, 61T which discharge an aqueous recording liquid to a recording medium 37; and application means 73 which applies to the recording medium 37 a process liquid obtained by emulsifying an aqueous solvent including a hydrophilic macromolecule and an electrolyte and a low-polarity solvent incompatible with the aqueous solvent as a W/O emulsion in which the aqueous solvent becomes a dispersion phase and the low-polarity solvent becomes a continuous phase with a first surfactant. |
