<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be capable of suppressing intensity change of an image caused by an A/D conversion error when switching gains in an imaging element.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging element which includes a column amplifier arranged for a plurality of pixels or a pixel column; an A/D conversion unit which performs an A/D conversion of a picture signal outputted from the imaging element; and a gain unit which amplifies the A/D converted picture signal. When switching gains of the column amplifier, the sum of gains of the column amplifier and the gain unit is controlled to be constant before and after switching, and output of the gain unit is balanced for each pixel to output before and after switching gains of the consecutive column amplifiers.</p> |
