<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute improvement in fastness and reduction in cost concerning abnormality detection in option unit.SOLUTION: In a facsimile apparatus, controllers have lower side signal lines connected to an upper side signal line of an uppermost paper feed unit out of paper feed units connected in series with the upper side closer to a printing unit, the paper feed units have upper side signal lines connected to a lower side signal line of the upper paper feed unit or the lower side signal lines of the controllers and lower side signal lines connected to an upper side signal line of a lower paper feed unit, set a potential of the upper side signal lines to a first potential in an initial state and set the potential of the upper side signal lines to a second potential different from the first potential. The controllers perform an instruction of paper feeding to the paper feed units in a normal state and detect abnormality occurring in at least one paper feed unit by a change in potential of the lower side signal lines from the second potential.</p> |
