PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which can satisfy all of excellent mechanical characteristics, flame retardancy, and workability while being halogen-free, and to provide a molded article using the same.SOLUTION: The flame-retardant composition comprises a base resin containing a polyolefin resin, a flame retardant containing a phosphate compound, calcium carbonate, a monoester compound of a polyhydric alcohol and a fatty acid, in which the flame retardant is blended in a proportion of 80 pts.mass or more and 115 pts.mass or less relative to 100 pts.mass of the base resin, calcium carbonate is blended in a proportion of 5 pts.mass or more and less than 20 pts.mass relative to 100 pts.mass of the base resin, the monoester compound is blended in a proportion of 0.5 pt.mass or more and less than 5 pts.mass relative to 100 pts.mass of the base resin, an average particle diameter of calcium carbonate is 300 nm or less, and a degree of crystallinity of the base resin is 20% or more and less than 50%. |
