PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a sound in an electronic stringed instrument more quickly.SOLUTION: An electronic guitar includes a fret scan unit and a microcomputer. The fret scan unit detects a string-pressing operation at a plurality of frets on a fingerboard on which a plurality of strings are stretched. The microcomputer classifies the plurality of frets into a plurality of groups, and determines, for each of the classified groups, whether or not there is a string-pressing operation on the basis of the result of detection by a string-pressing sensor. Also, when it is determined that there is a string-pressing operation, the microcomputer detects, on the basis of the result of detection by the string-pressing sensor, the fret position in a group at which the string-pressing operation was performed. |
