PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aβ-type A/D converter capable of further accurately compensating for a truncation error.SOLUTION: An analog/digital converter 1 converts an inputted analog input signal into a binary digital signal while usingβthat is a value greater than 1 and smaller than 2, as a parameter. The analog/digital converter 1 includes: a comparison section 13 which compares a magnitude of the inputted analog input signal or an analog residual signal with a threshold value and outputs a digital value indicating a comparison result; a compensation coefficient calculation section 40 which uses aβdigital signal generated from the digital signal outputted by the comparison section 13 to calculate a compensation coefficientθthat is used for compensating for the truncation error that is generated when converting the analog input signal into theβdigital signal; and aβ/binary conversion section 50 which uses theβdigital signal and the compensation coefficient calculated by the compensation coefficient calculation section to generate and output the binary digital signal.
