摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position estimation method capable of estimating a position of a wave source in a short period of time without installing wave receivers at a plurality of locations.SOLUTION: A wave receiver J positioned between a sea level W1 and the seabed W2 receives a direct wave D which arrives at the receiver J directly from a wave source H, a first reflected wave R1 which arrives at the receiver after reflecting on the sea level W1 once and a second reflected wave R2 which arrives at the receiver after reflecting on the seabed W2 once. Then, an equation of a first hyperbolic line S1 having, as focal points, the wave source H and a mirror image H1 of the wave source H with respect to a first boundary surface and the equation of a second hyperbolic line S2 having, as the focal points, the wave source H and the mirror image H2 of the wave source H with respect to the seabed W2 are obtained. By solving the first hyperbolic line S1 and the second hyperbolic line S2 as simultaneous equations, coordinates of the wave source H can be obtained as the coordinates of a common focal point of the first hyperbolic line S1 and the second hyperbolic line S2.</p>
