<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device which can improve a steering feeling by enhancing the air tightness of a gear housing.SOLUTION: A gear housing 9 for accommodating a gear reduction mechanism 8 comprises a first housing 35 and a second housing 36 which support a steering shaft 3 via a first bearing 25. The first housing 35 includes an outer cylinder 42 which is pressure-inserted into the second housing 36, an inner cylinder 43, and a connecting wall 44 for connecting both the cylinders 42, 43. The inner cylinder 43 includes an external periphery fitting part 45 which is pressure-inserted into an end part of a column tube 6, and an internal periphery fitting part 46 which is fit to an external periphery 27a of an outer ring 27 of the first bearing 25. Ventilation between the external periphery 27a of the outer ring 27 and the internal periphery fitting part 46 is blocked by a seal member 48 which is interposed between an end face 47a of an annular flange 47 protruding toward the inside of a radial direction from an upper end 43b of the inner cylinder 43 in an axial direction X, and an end face 27b of the outer ring 27.</p> |
