<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that mist occurs when discharge detection is performed based on electrical change at the time of hitting of a droplet after the droplet is discharged to an electrode member.SOLUTION: In a case of performing discharge state detection operation in which a droplet is discharged from a recording head 4 toward an electrode plate 101, when the discharge state detection operation is completed, a voltage of opposite polarity is applied in a manner in which a voltage that imparts a negative charge is applied to the electrode plate 101 when a voltage that imparts, for example, a positive charge is being applied to the electrode plate 101 during discharge state detection operation, relating to a polarity of a voltage that is applied to the electrode plate 101.</p> |
