PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-like building material capable of improving a pure feeling, while attaining resource-saving.SOLUTION: A plate-like building material 1 is constituted by providing a groove 5 reaching a veneer 6 of a most back layer on its surface 10 side, by laminating a plurality of veneers 6 and 8 on a base material 4, and the back layer side veneer 6 has a deeper color than the surface layer side veneer 8. The plurality of veneers 6 and 8 are formed of different tree kinds.
