PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle airbag system capable of preventing a far-side airbag from disturbing the deployment of a head-on-collision main airbag at a time of oblique collision or oblique collision prediction even if a seat position is close to a front-most side with respect to an intermediate portion between neutral and front-most sides.SOLUTION: A vehicle airbag system 64 exerts a control to permit deployment of a driver-seat far-side airbag 56 and a front-passenger-seat far-side airbag 62 if a driver-seat seat position sensor 70 and a front-passenger-seat seat position sensor 72 detect that seat positions of the front seats 20 are each between an intermediate portion between neutral and front-most sides and a rear-most side, and to prohibit the deployment of the driver-seat far-side airbag 56 and the front-passenger-seat far-side airbag 62 at proximate positions if the sensors 70 and 72 detect that the seat positions of the front seats 20 are each close to the front-most side with respect to the intermediate portion. |
