PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect security of a vehicle, and improve convenience.SOLUTION: A vehicle-purposed personal authentication system 10 comprises: a vehicle 200; and a smart key 100 controlling the vehicle 200, and authenticates an operator that operates the smart key 100. The smart key 100 comprises a voice acquisition unit 111 that acquires a voice, and the vehicle 200 comprises an apparatus authentication unit 221 that authenticates the smart key 100 and the vehicle 200; a personal authentication unit 222 that performs personal authentication of an operator when an apparatus authentication is succeeded; and an execution unit 260 that executes processing corresponding to a command generated based on the voice acquired by the voice acquisition unit 111 when the personal authentication is succeeded. The personal authentication unit 222 is configured to select one authentication mode from at least two authentication modes different in authentication intensity on the basis of the command generated based on the voice acquired by the voice acquisition unit 111, and perform the personal authentication on the basis of the selected authentication mode.
