The present invention relates to red ginseng with reinforced ginsenoside Rg1 and Rb1, and a manufacturing method thereof. The manufacturing method of red ginseng of the present invention comprises a condition of immersing fresh ginseng in a basic solution, and can manufacture red ginseng with reinforced ginsenoside Rg1 and Rg1 in comparison with the red ginseng manufactured with the conventional method by pretreatment of a basic solution. Therefore, the manufacturing method of the present invention can be usefully used in a functional food market using red ginseng and red ginseng powder with reinforced ginsenoside Rg1 and Rb1.
