According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for utilizing the address book of an image forming apparatus on a web browser includes: a step in which the image forming apparatus receives web data from a web server; a step in which the image forming apparatus displays the web page corresponding to the received web data on the display unit of the image forming apparatus; a step in which the image forming apparatus enables a user to select one of the input boxes included in the web page; a step in which the image forming apparatus analyzes the form tag corresponding to the selected input box in the web data; and a step in which the image forming apparatus displays the list of the address book and the virtual character input device which can be linked to the address book of the image forming device on the display unit.
