PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material that is equipped with charge/discharge capacity higher than FeFwhen a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is used.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material is used in a secondary battery equipped with a nonaqueous electrolyte and is made of an amorphous metal fluoride represented by a general formula: FeNaMF. (M is a metal element of one kind selected from a group consisting of Co, Ni, Cu, Mg, Al, Zn, and Sn, n is an oxidation number of the metal element M, and 0<x≤0.4 and 0≤y≤0.1 are satisfied). |
