PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a payment device provided with a coping function for shortage of change capable of being coped with not only by a person in charge of a shop but by a customer himself when shortage of change occurs.SOLUTION: A payment device 10 includes: a code reading unit 11 for reading a payment code 1a of a payment receipt 1 and a change code 3a of a change receipt 3; an accounting processing unit 12 for calculating a purchase amount based on a commodity code 1a, calculating a change amount by subtracting the purchase amount from a payment amount; a display/operation unit 13 for displaying an amount and an operation guide and accepting an operation; a reception/payment management unit 16 for paying the change amount on the basis of a read result by an accounting processing and/or read result of a change code 3a; and a receipt outputting unit for outputting a payment receipt 2 after calculation finish and a change receipt 17 when shortage of change. Thus, when shortage of change occurs, since the customer himself is capable of receiving unpaid change at another payment device which is not shortage of change, the customer's waiting time is capable of being shortened. |
