PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal compressor capable of suppressing occurrence of rotation stall and reducing noise and shaft vibration caused by the rotation stall.SOLUTION: Provided is a centrifugal compressor 2 comprising: an impeller 22 rotating about an axis and discharging radially outward a fluid flowing into the impeller 22 from an axial direction; an introduction channel 34 introducing the fluid into the impeller 22; a plurality of inlet guide vanes 43 provided in the introduction channel 34, arranged spaced apart circumferentially, and each having a variable opening; a vane-less diffuser 39 in which the fluid discharged from the impeller 22 flows; a channel-cross-sectional-area regulation device 46 making variable a channel cross-sectional area of the vane-less diffuser 39; and a control device controlling the channel-cross-sectional-area regulation device 46 to change the channel cross-sectional area on the basis of the opening of each inlet guide vane 43. |
